This was my first experience of Shinedown as last year my dad told me to listen to it and I HATED IT. One of the only times I have actively disliked listening to an album from the family CD collection. The first impression I got of it was they sound too American and sounded shit.
Devour is alright (for s Shinedown song) but Sound of Madness is exactly what I mean by they sound too American, I am disgusted by those kinds of vocals I just really hate that song and think it sucks. Second Chance is exactly what the title says it is, pretty decent Cry for Help is just too noisy like you aren't achieving anything with that noise stop shaking the metal tub full of cutlery.
The Crow & the Butterfly has an instrumental that sounds like it's a Sims 4 house edit mode song. I can not take it seriously like it starts of "haha it kind of sounds like that" and as more instruments come in it doubles down and sounds even more like one like when you are clicking through different furniture categories and the instruments change. Vocally I don't care for it but atleast it doesn't sound like track 2
They really like putting the most ok songs and then following up with complete noise slop. 6 is ok but not gripping and then 7 comes back with the cutlery in a metal tub treatment, cringe lyrics and track name too. 8 is boring and 9 is the exact same as 7. I do not care for this album at this point and realise why I hated it.
It just sucks, it's not the worst thing ever because if it was just background music and you weren't really listening to it it's passable but I just do not like it at all.
