I don't know how they do it. It's an extremely beautiful album and a beautiful tribute to Syd. At 5 tracks long there really isn't any song doesn't stand out. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is easily the best pair of bookending tracks and are phenomenal tracks, parts 1-5 gets played on it's own more often but 6-9 is criminally underrated. Welcome to the Machine is just great, Have a Cigar too. Wish You Were Here is such a beautiful song, like truly truly beautiful like everyone I know who likes Pink Floyd want's it played at their funeral level beautiful. Everything that can be said about that song can be said about the album as a whole, it's such an amazing title track and tribute. Gilmour really shines through on this album with the guitar.
This album had such a grip on me when I was around the age of 16, every time I hear parts 6 -9 I think about that time in my life and this specific Minecraft server for me and my friends, all of my diamond tools were named after tracks from this album. I don't think that was a good time in my life at all but I am glad I was listening to this album then. Sometimes you think about your favourite albums and wonder if they hold up to a listen again and there are times where you realise that artistically they are good but they aren't that good and it's just nostalgia. This is one of the cases where I feel like I have made myself think that it's just nostalgia carrying my fondness for this album just to be hit with it and reminded how good it is.
