"underrated tbh🗿" Animals is probably my favourite album, I do think that it isn't as perfect as Wish You Were Here or The Dark Side of the Moon but it is my favourite. I may be a cat person but Dogs has been my #1 track for a long time, it's a phenomenal song everything about it is peak just straight up a banger. The guitar at the end of Pigs slaps so hard, insane. The piano in Sheep is incredible. I love all 3 main tracks so much. I don't think it's fair to say that it's the best 3 run of tracks because those three are the entire album, as bookends I think Pigs on the Wing are good but not quite as great as the main three tracks, still quite beautiful bookends.
The whole album holds a place in my heart and I think the album art really sells it, the imagery of Battersea Power Station with Algie the pig flying above is just iconic and like with the albums themselves I do think DSOTM, WYWH or The Wall have more iconic album covers but Animals is my favourite. The original's colour scheme is nice but I do prefer the remastered cover with the more striking colours. It's just downright beautiful.
