The resistance is a good album, it was always going to be hard to beat Black Hols and Revelations and although I do like the vibe it isn't quite as good. Still good though and that's probably because it opens straight off with Uprising which is crazy. An incredibly sick track and easily one of my favourites from them. It's also one of those palatable tracks that won't scare your family members or friends if you put it on the speaker because it isn't as harsh, it's a similar thing with the sound of the whole album.
This is definitely the album to where their sound noticeably changes from the more chaotic noise of their older albums to the more clean. Other than Uprising and Unnatural Selection the first half is good but not as great as previous stuff Muse have put out, the real appeal of the album is is I Belong to You and the Exogenesis Symphony. It isn't perfect , it isn't any Shine On You Crazy Diamond but it is beautiful and unique in their entire discography and for that I think it's a good album.
