Drones really feels like the perfect album that demonstrates the mix of both the noise from the older Muse albums and the vibe/sound of the newer albums. I think Drones as an album perfectly matches them both whilst also being a great modern anti-war album that focuses on the dehumanisation and lack of connection to the consequences of the tools used, like drones, in modern conflict.

Dead Inside is such a good opener, and perfectly demonstrates the sound of new and old whilst being a banger. Psycho is a great track but the funny little voice reminds me of Jerma so I can't take it seriously and have a little smile on my face when I listen to it which is funny because it's the song where the main chorus is YOUR ASS BELONGS TO ME NOW and that isn't the thing I giggle at. Mercy and Reapers are bangers and at this point in the album I'm totally proven wrong when I think "There is no way I remember the album being that good" because it's so peak.

I really appreciate that [Drill Sergeant] and [JFK] are separate tracks to the songs they lead into so they can be listened to separately from the album, I wish more artists did this for their preludes.

I have heard someone say before that they didn't like the second half that much but I can't tell at what point they mean the second half because JFK/Defector is great, Revolt is too and The Globalist is a really sick track with some amazing guitar so the only thing I can think of is Aftermath which is a bit slow or the final track which is just meant to be a closer? There is nothing on the album where I feel like it was unnecessary or should be different. I love Drones.
