One of the albums of all time, it's one of those prog rock albums where it's really hard to not add every track on your playlist because they are all so perfect. It's also really hard to describe my feelings about it without repeating the same words or phrases as it's just that good, there is never not a smile on my face listening to it.
21st Century is peak throughout, it really doesn't feel like 7 and a half mins it's just that good. I Talk to the Wind is soooo fucking beautiful and it sounds so good like it's so calming whilst having so much going on. I used to put it on a bunch as a final track I'd listen to before heading to bed and it would do wonders. Instrumentally at the end of mygodddddd im drooling, the transition to Epitaph too. I love Epitaph, 8 and three quarters of a min of peak it's so beautiful, that ending too wwaow.
Moonchild is probably the one I have listened to the least like I only really listen to it when listening to the album, 9 listens vs the second lowest being Talk to the Wind at 41 listens, it's still quite beautiful and I feel like I have done it a disservice by listening to it less than the rest. It does feel like the only track to where you can feel the length because the majority of it is instrumental and parts of it are a bit cats playing with toy instruments gif. Who fucking cares anyway because after that it's suddenly The Court of the Crimson King which fucksss it's so good and then you finish and it's like nope there is still more peak left. I don't even care that I only have three phrases to describe these songs because it's high praise.
I like the structure of the album having the more peaceful songs I Talk to the Wind and Moonchild between the others. I do think if Moonchild had more substance it would be a completely perfect album, it's still amazing and one of the best either way. Proof of why Dorset is the best county in England because if it didn't exist we wouldn't have King Crimson.
The bonus tracks in Expanded & Remastered Original Album Mix are cool, I never really understood radio version/edits of tracks and can't really tell the difference other than not having the cool bit at the end. I Talk to the Wind duo version is sooo good oh my godddd it's very beautiful, I think if I never played The Sims 4 I would like it more because it does slightly make me think of the soundtrack in that. A Man A City also is pretty cool as the original version of Pictures of a City from In The Wake of Poseidon.
Such a good album.
