It's really something special, Life in Technicolour is a really cool opening, Cemeteries of London is great, Lost! is a banger and 42 is such an amazing track like both sides of it is just peak. Lovers in Japan / Reign of Love is just great because the first bit is a banger and RoL is beautiful. I think Yes would be only great if it wasn't for Chinese Sleep Chant on the second half like that really elevates it to the same as the rest.
Viva la Vida, with many other overplayed Coldplay tracks I tend to dislike them but this one I can't. It puts a smile on my face whenever I listen to it like overplaying this will not kill my opinion of it. I think a part of that might be because of the Minecraft parody Fallen Kingdom as I used to put that on when I was younger quite a bit so I could never hate something that I have an emotional connection to. It's just a really good song though, like yes going from Yes to this is a bit jarring like with Sparks to Yellow but it redeems itself by everything about it being perfect. Violet Hill being immediately after like AAAAHHHH I LOVE IT, such an amazing track. Sometimes I do think it's better than Viva la Vida, such a beautiful song and that intro is great like despite being mostly nothing I can immediately recognise it. I just wish it was longer because I really enjoy listening to it but when it really gets going it's like oh there is only 1:30 left. I think it's just because the intro takes up some time and the outro to the song is 40 seconds so there is less meat in it. This is such a tiny complaint and the only thing I could dislike about it but that sort of tells you how much I like it if my only issue is there isn't more.
Strawberry Swing is nice but probably the most forgettable track, Death and All His Friends is a great closer like it's very uplifting. The Escapist as a bonus track is nice, if you are going to have something that sounds different to the track it's attached to and plays immediately after this is how you do it. Using Life in Technicolour as the base is perfect both because I really like the instrumental of it and because it's bookended. I think I have listened to this album just as many times as I have X&Y and this is by far the more memorable one, it's just great throughout and all of the tracks are amazing.
