I think this is the point where Coldplay change, if you liked their previous work there isn't a guarantee that you will like this and what comes after. I do like it though, Paradise was the first Coldplay song I properly listened to on repeat (Viva la Vida does not count if it was a Minecraft parody). I don't think the album is as artistic as their previous but it is undeniably fun like you can't not have a smile on your face when you put it on and part of that is definitely the first 4 tracks. I really like Hurts Like Heaven, Paradise and Charlie Brown. Peak, my only complaint would be Hurts Like Heaven coming in from Mylo Xyloto means it's a bit weird when you have just that on in a playlist.
The interludes are nice as their own tracks, Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall and Major Minus are good but Princess of China is where it's at. Definitely the best track on the album, a banger. The rest of the album is just good, there isn't really much to say as I don't think anything is like particularly bad and there aren't any songs that I dislike from being overplayed or that feel really forced. It's just all around decent even stuff that isn't vocally impressive like the final track Up with the Birds still feels good to listen to. It's not ground-breaking, just good.
