If A Head Full of Dreams was the point where the band changed this is the point where I feel like they have committed to the more commercial popslop stuff. It's not a bad album like I went in kinda negatively even though I have listened to it 11 or so times now but I just don't hate it the way some other people do. I do like that the interludes are separate tracks like it does make the album look like it has more songs than it actually does but it makes it so much nicer to just listen to a specific track without having the stuff at the start. The first track sort of reminds me of O from Ghost Stories but it isn't anywhere near as good as that. I'm not entirely sure how to feel about Higher Power and Humankind like I prefer Higher Power but there is the sense that they are trying too hard. Interlude track 3 is cool but it doesn't lead into anything and is right at the start, like what bit of the album are you trying to break up???? Let Somebody Go is ok, I think at this point in the album I am just kind of uninterested. I don't know if it's because of the album or if it's because of the time I'm listening to it at but everything just seems alright like Heart idc for.
People of the Pride and Biutyful I am so conflicted about because I simultaneously think they aren't that good but also like them, PotP I think the instrumental is the only thing gripping me but I'd never willingly put just that track on. Biutyful on the other hand I have sometimes thought of and just slapped it on like I get that it's annoying like it both sucks and slaps My Universe is similar to that where I don't entirely like it that much and I don't think K-Pop is really my thing but I bop my head listening to it and I am 100% singing along to this when I see them later this year. I think it's kind of funny that I have put Biutyful on more than My Universe, the one thing that does really piss me off about the track is how it dose not transition into anything like the last 30 seconds seem like the perfect spot to transition to something but NO it does NOT GO INTO TRACK 11 AND IT PISSES ME OFF LIKE WHY DOES IT JUST FADE OUT AND 11 JUST STARTS. Also why is 11 here when it sounds more like Humankind??? Like why did they not make it flow better.
Coloratura, what a song. idk why it isn't called Colouratura when they are British. It's easily a top 3 Coldplay song like it's phenomenal, the thing that made me decide to get some decent headphones was this song (and hearing how good Moon Music was in the cinema early screenings with those crazy speakers) but I just really wanted to hear this track in it's full glory and I'm so glad I did because wow I love it like the last 3 and a half mins especially. If you don't like this album I totally get it, it's very popslop but you can't deny that Coloratura is an absolute gem of a song in this album like you can not like it but atleast see it as "the album that has Coloratura"
