This used to be my favourite Coldplay album before I started really getting into them and I am still quite fond of it although I can admit that it isn't their best. I don't think it's perfect or contains that sauce the first few albums have but it's undeniably fun. The first 4 tracks are just good and the whole album follows through. A Head Full of Dreams and Hymn for the Weekend slap, they do feel a bit to poppy to be perfect in my eyes but I do love them. Especially the birds at the start of Hymn because it reminds me of my old house where we used to hear those birds all the time.
Adventure of a Lifetime SLAPS, it's just such a nice song like if you don't smile listening to it then you probably don't have a soul. Fun is fun, I don't get why people dislike it. Kaleidoscope is a nice interlude track but maybe it does drag and might be better if there were no vocals, still sounds nice though. Army of One is nice but I think I prefer the hidden track X Marks the Spot. The rest of the album is good but there isn't really much to say because it's just good, nothing more nothing less. Colour Spectrum having no vocals confirms what I think about Kaleidoscope though, would definitely be better with no vocals. Up & Up is a nice closer, fun like the rest of the album.
